Technical support for the vessels, spare parts logistics, purchasing and accounting - daily responsibilities of the Nautical & Technical Inspection Department which are supplemented by extensive certification work in connection with classification and flag states as well as consistent security, safety, quality and environmental management.
Whether C-TPAT or ISPS, national and international security regulations that are binding for shipping are constantly adapted or newly developed. Fleet Management ensures prompt implementation of these regulations on board and in the shore organization and monitors compliance with them in line with safe and reliable ship operation.
In addition to these measures, ISM certification makes a decisive contribution to the very good condition of the vessels and their performance for the entire Hanseatic Lloyd fleet and shore organization.
As a shipping company , our responsibility goes beyond the crew, ship and cargo. Our responsible actions in operating the vessels are also determined by an internal environmental management. All residues resulting from ship operation are treated and disposed of properly while complying strictly with international environmental guidelines. State-of-the-art wastewater treatment facilities as well as the avoidance and sorting of ship wastes on board also provide for high environmental standards. All new vessels are and will be equipped with consumption-optimized and low-emission engines of the latest generation in each case.
